Science Fun in Mrs. Sterup’s Science Classes! 🧠📚🚀
Our 6th graders took on a tough engineering challenge: build a table strong enough to hold a textbook using only 10 pieces of paper and 20 inches of tape! The tallest and sturdiest tables reached an impressive 11 inches tall!
Meanwhile, our 7th graders turned into marshmallow-launching engineers, using 4 large marshmallows, 20 inches of tape, a spoon, and 7 tongue depressors to build the ultimate launcher. The winning shot? An incredible 8 feet 8 inches, with a close runner-up at 7 feet!
Both activities challenged students to work within constraints while flexing their creativity and problem-solving skills. Way to go, scientists-in-training! 🔬

’Twas the morning before Homecoming, and all through the school,
The hallways were glowing, enchanted and cool.
The streamers were hung from the ceilings with flair,
In hopes that the Homecoming soon would be there.
So remember this day wherever you roam—
There’s no place like Homecoming. No place like home.

NBC was complimented today in a statewide webinar from the Nebraska Department of Education for highly-effective utilization of the Nebraska Career Connections platform, which assists students in connecting their education with long-term career planning. Students in Career Education courses grades 8-12 create their personnel files by completing a battery of assessments and then building an educational plan for skill attainment, networking with professionals, gaining job experience, and drafting effective documentation, including a resume, cover letter, reference list, and Digital Resume (Vesume) project .
NBC is seeking ways to further use the NCC platform to assist students and parents, and plans on utilizing federal Perkins Grant funding to purchase the possible add on features, making the entire process completely free to our school and students! #CTEatNBC #LearningThatWORKS
