π A season to remember!
We're throwing it back to the incredible 1998 NBC Volleyball team, who battled their way to an outstanding 25-2 record, coming just shy of a state tournament appearance after a hard-fought loss in the district finals in front of an over capacity crowd of 1,200.
In that final game, senior standout Jenny Pollard (in picture) led the charge with 17 kills, supported by Robyn Fittje and Katie Blacketer with 4 kills each. Shannon Emanuel kept the offense running strong with 24 set assists.
This team showed heart, hustle, and true Tiger pride every step of the way. π§‘π€

Taking Action - Students in Ms. Morgan's English 11 classes began the school year by engaging in a unit of study about the Holocaust. Based on a survey before beginning the unit, most students had limited to zero knowledge about this tragic time in history. Students began by reading the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Next, the classes watched Schindler's List.
After learning about the extreme cruelty, violence, and sorrow of this time, it is easy to feel despair about humanity. It's important to study it and remember what has happened. It's also important to take action. Therefore, as a final response to this unit, students spent some time focusing on individuals and organizations that are currently taking action to preserve human dignity, rights, and life. Students then created social media posts to bring awareness to the causes they researched.

NBC fifth graders enjoyed a day of learning at Morrill Hall and Mr. Mullerβs farm!
A big thank-you to the NBC Foundation for supporting the trip through a grant, and to Mr. Muller for hosting our students!

Mrs. Miller's Precalculus students took graphing to the next level, by working together on a life-size coordinate plane taped on the classroom floor!
Through teamwork and movement, they explored transformations of functions including shifts, reflections, stretches, and shrinks.

Good luck at State Cross Country, Emma! Weβre all cheering for you!πββοΈ
