Our little learners became “secret admirers” for their classmates, pouring their hearts into creating special Valentines. Each child carefully wrote names, decorated with excitement, and delivered their cards with big smiles and even bigger anticipation!
The classroom was filled with surprises, giggles, and joy as students practiced kindness and celebrated one another. Moments like these remind us that even the smallest acts of thoughtfulness can make a BIG impact. ❤️

Mrs. Wess’ 6th Grade Teen Issues class has been focusing on building strong communication skills! 📣✨
While most students admitted they prefer texting, they stepped out of their comfort zones to practice verbal communication and active listening. In this fun (and challenging!) activity, partners sat back-to-back. One student described how they were coloring a butterfly, while the other carefully listened and tried to recreate it based only on the verbal directions.
Each pair also had an observer who could only use nonverbal communication—facial expressions and gestures—to react to what was happening. 👀🤐
By the end, students agreed it was much easier to be the “talker” and discovered just how important strong listening skills really are. Great job, 6th grade!

It’s National SkillsUSA Week! 🎉🔧
We’re celebrating all week long with fun activities — including Tools of the Trade Tuesday!
During lunch, students had the chance to explore the tools and skills used in many of the competitions our students participate in. From trying out drone and robotics technology to photography, cake and cookie decorating, mousetrap contraptions, and even healthcare skills like using a stethoscope and monitoring blood pressure — students got a hands-on look at just a few of the more than 130 contests SkillsUSA offers!
It was exciting to see so many students jump in, try something new, and have a great time exploring future career skills. 🚁📸🩺🍪
