Today's NBC Staff Spotlight is on Alyssa Nelson!


Junior Samantha L. recently won the E.N. Thompson Forum Photography Contest, sponsored by the UNL College of Journalism & Mass Communication. Students in the NBC Photography Class entered their choice work from throughout this year & were invited to an honors reception March 25, where Pulitzer Prize-winning science journalist, Guggenheim Fellow, and author of "An Immense World" and "I Contain Multitudes" Ed Young presented. Sammi's entry "Cat" earned her top honors.


Twelve NBC band students performed at the Class C All-State Honor Band at Kearney High School. These students were part of 3 ensembles: Junior High Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. Each student had to submit an audition and be selected from students at class c schools across the state. The students had a great time and represented North Bend Central wonderfully!

Bill Rentschler and the 10/11 Weather Shield visited 5th grade at NBCE!
5th graders are learning about natural disasters and severe weather already - but got to learn even more about tornadoes, hail, wind, and lightning.

The NBC Culinary Class and SkillsUSA partnered up with Brian Jurgens from BJs Catering to help the students learn how to airline cut a whole chicken in the new FCS lab. Mr. Jurgens shared his expertise and his career pathway in restauranteering, managing a culinary kitchen and menu, and the skills they're learning in class that are highly sought after in industry.
