American Education Week Trivia: Students and staff have probably noticed quite a few new-teacher faces over the past 3-5 years due to retirements. Even after hiring many new young teachers, NBCPS teachers still aver- age 17 years of teaching experience per teacher—above the state average. In 2019-2020, 65% of NBCPS teach- ers had a Master’s degree in education.

This week is American Education Week—a time to celebrate the educational opportunities we have. North Bend Central Public Schools is still a popular choice for parents to send their children. NBCPS has had a 20% increase in enrollment over the past ten years.

The Post Prom Committee is going to do a free will donation fundraiser on this Saturday of going around town and picking up tree branches and hauling them away. If anyone’s interestd in having their branches picked up, contact Cheryl Wietfeld 402-720-2463 or Carol Emanuel 402-720-4950.
**There has been a great responce to this fundraiser and they need more student helpers! If you can volunteer some time to help raise money for Post Prom, please stop by the office to sign up to help. They will need help between 9 AM - 1 PM tomorrow.**

Thank you all for your patience and willingness to be flexible during this difficult every changing time. Below is our new process for athletic events.
Students wishing to attend athletic events at NBC will need to have a ticket for admittance to the activity. Each participant will get an allotted amount to distribute to family and friends. If participants do not give out all their tickets we ask that they bring them to
the office to be shared with the student body. Students who wish to attend the game but did not receive a ticket may come to the front office and sign up for the lottery. The lottery will be drawn at the end of the day on game day for student to receive a ticket. Please note that this ticket does not get you free admittence to the game, you will still have to pay the gate fee.

Good luck to the volleyball team as they kick off their season with the Jamboree against Arlington and Louisville.

If anyone needs to take a shower after practice on Wednesday night, please communicate with your coach. Also please take every- thing out of your locker on Wednesday night so your locker can be cleaned.

Students wishing to attend athletic events at NBC will need to have a ticket for admittance to the activity. Each participant will get an allotted amount to distribute to family and friends. If participants do not give out all their tickets we ask that they bring them to
the office to be shared with the student body. Students who wish to attend the game but did not receive a ticket may come to the front office and sign up for the lottery. The lottery will be drawn at the end of the day on game day for student to receive a ticket.

Reminder for State Tournament: $7 for adults/$5 for students

Signs and Banners. Signs and banners that are not directed at the opposition and are not derogatory in nature
may be placed on walls behind the seating areas in the High Schools ONLY. There will be no signs or banners allowed at the Devaney Sports Center or Pinnacle Bank Arena. These signs or banners will not be permitted on walls or the stands near the playing floor. Signs, banners, and school flags should not be carried around the floor. Signs that are not political, obscene, or in bad taste may be posted within the playing facility as long as the signs do not interfere with the spectators’ view of the game or with the playing of the game. No balloons inside the facility. Artificial Noisemakers. The use of artificial noisemakers is prohibited. (Examples: air horns,whistles, bells, Thunder Sticks, etc.)

Both Pinnacle Bank Arena and the Devaney Sports Center have a “clear bag policy” that will be enforced for spectators. Student media members WILL NOT be subject to this policy when using the designated media entrance.

may be placed on walls behind the seating areas in the High Schools ONLY. There will be no signs or banners allowed at the Devaney Sports Center or Pinnacle Bank Arena. These signs or banners will not be permitted on walls or the stands near the playing floor. Signs, banners, and school flags should not be carried around the floor. Signs that are not political, obscene, or in bad taste may be posted within the playing facility as long as the signs do not interfere with the spectators’ view of the game or with the playing of the game.   2. If you are a sophomore, have good leadership and communication skills, and you are interested ins serving on the NSAA student advisory committee see Mr. Allgood. This is a 2 year term, serving your junior and senior year.

  3. Teammates Mentoring will be having a beef burger fundraiser Friday night at the game at Oakland. Free will donation.

  4. 7th & 8th grade pole vaulters: get signed up on the list in Mrs. Wright’s classroom (A17) to get ready for upcoming track season and some pre-season workouts!

  5. 7th & 8th basketball girls will be dismissed at 3:15 today for their game at Neumann.

  2. Your NBC Dance Team will be competing in the Midland Cheer And Dance Festival this Saturday, January 25th at 1:10. Come show your support for the dance team by cheering them on in their first competition as a team! They will competing at the Wikert Event Center on the Midland Campus, on the corner of 10th and Clarkson Street. Doors open at 8 am, overall competition starts at 9 am. The North Bend Friends Cancer Support Group sincerely thanks all the sponsors, members of participating organizations, and anyone who supported the fall fundraisers for the Dodge County Relay for Life. The generous donation will stay in Dodge County to help those cancer patients who are in need to support and help at a very crucial time. Again, your local support in this cause is greatly appreciated by the local Cancer Support Group.
